Laura Barton, Daniel Smith, and Liam Wooding formed the Tasman Trio in 2018 as musicians at the Australian National Academy of Music (ANAM) in Melbourne. The group explores pairing classics of the piano trio repertoire alongside contemporary works in concert, with a specific focus on works from the Asia-Pacific region. Career highlights include presenting two public recitals at ANAM, performing in the semifinals of the ANAM Chamber Music Competition, participating at the Adam Summer School, and performing in the St Andrew's on the Terrace Lunchtime Concert Series. This will be their second tour to New Zealand, where they will perform the Beethoven Triple Concerto with the Wellington Chamber Orchestra, as well as recitals in Wellington and Whanganui. The group aspires to represent - at home and abroad - a rich and diverse Australian and New Zealand musical culture by creating inspiring and original performances through the Chamber Music genre.
